In April of 2005 Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano signed into law a bill which removed the option to register independent from the Arizona voter registration form, having the following effect on independent voter registration in the state.

2000-2002 107,715
2002-2004 165,771
2004-2006 26,483

The Arizona news media refuses to publish these statistics for voter registration obtained from the Secretary of State by independent voters and continues to write articles depicting independent voter registration at a high level. Obviously, after the election takes place, they will start printing articles showing that independent voter registration has decreased, indicating that the voters are starting to support political parties to a greater degree.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
